In 2025, Singapore and Thailand commemorates 60 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations. It is also a double celebration for Singapore as we celebrate 60 years of
independence.

The theme of this commemorative year is “Singapore-Thailand: Realising Opportunities for New Growth” or “STRONG@60.” It recognises our complementary strengths and calls for a
future-oriented partnership that would benefit our peoples. The commemorative logo weaves the lion and the elephant, the national icons of Singapore and Thailand respectively,
into the number “60”, symbolising longstanding and multi-faceted partnership with Thailand, which is anchored by strong political, economic, defence, tourism, and people-to-
people ties.

Economically, our ties are robust. In 2024, Thailand was Singapore’s 9th largest trading partner and the 3rd largest within ASEAN. Singapore has also consistently been among
Thailand’s top investors since 2015. Together, we have pioneered many new initiatives that are ground-breaking and mutually beneficial, including the world’s first real-time digital
payment linkage between Singapore’s PayNow and Thailand’s PromptPay.

The 9th Singapore Regional Business Forum will be held in Bangkok, Thailand on 19 August 2025. It is a significant milestone in bringing our economic relationship to greater heights as
we celebrate 60 years of enduring friendship and partnership between Singapore and Thailand!
